Billy Ray Johnson, 68 of Franklin, Tenn., died Jan. 11, 2013 at Williamson Medical Center.
He was a retired Vietnam veteran and drill sergeant with the U.S. Army. He worked security at Saturn for 21 years and had a passion for cooking meals for his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his son, Delton Johnson and parents, Lou and Johnnie Morris Johnson. Mr. Johnson is survived by a loving wife of 34 years, Bessie Johnson of Franklin, Tenn.; sons, Retez and Rodriquez Johnson of Oklahoma and Billy D. Johnson of West Virginia; daughter, Antreasa (Sandro) Chipa of Nashville, Tenn.; stepson, Arthur Scott of Franklin, Tenn.; sister Vera Johnson of Franklin, Tenn.; sister-in-law, Anna Johnson of Oklahoma; and many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, Jan. 18, 2013 at noon at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home with visitation from 11a.m. to noon; Pastor Al Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
Arrangements are by Williamson Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Franklin.
