Virginia ‘Puggy’ I. Celozzi, obituary
Virginia I. Celozzi, 82 of Franklin, Tenn., died Jan. 22, 2013.
Mrs. Celozzi was a native of Milford, Mass. and loved sports of all kinds, especially the Boston Red Sox. An accomplished softball player and team manager, she received state recognition for breaking the glass ceiling for women’s softball in Massachusetts. She was also an avid golfer and bocce ball player.
Mrs. Celozzi spent the past four years in Nashville with her daughter and grandchildren.
She was preceded is in death by her parents, Horace H. Smith & Lillian D. Miller; husband, Joseph M. Celozzi; sons, Joseph K., John and Frank Goodnow. Mrs. Celozzi is survived by her son, Michael Celozzi of Milford, Mass.; daughter, Suzanne (Cleland) Ratcliffe of Franklin, Tenn.; sister, Joan (Bob) Duley of New Salem, Mass.; grandchildren, Chris Ratcliffe, Michelle (Keith) Dowd, Michelle Creasia, John Markman and Lillie Goodnow; six great-grandchildren; and her beloved pet, Fufu.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013 at 3 p.m. at ClearView Baptist Church Chapel, 537 Franklin Road, Franklin, Tenn.
Arrangements are by Williamson Memorial Funeral Home at Franklin.
