Sizzle Awards reader poll is under way

The publisher of Southern Exposure Magazine and the Williamson Herald launched the sixth annual Sizzle Awards last week with, giving readers the chance to vote on the Williamson County’ best of the best, including which restaurant has the best breakfast, their favorite grocery store or bakery, and which florist makes the best flower arrangements.

“This is one of the most fun things a publisher can do,” said Derby Jones, owner of Southern Exposure Magazine and the Williamson Herald, and publisher of the latter. “We hand the outcome over to our readers, who, based on previous years, have very strong opinions!”

This is the sixth time the Sizzle Awards have been held in as many years. The voting will continue through March 14. The winners will be announced in Southern Exposure Magazine the Herald shortly thereafter. The winners will be invited to an awards ceremony.

“I love the Sizzle Awards,” said Brandy Blanton, publisher of Southern Exposure Magazine. “It’s so great to be out in the community and see Sizzle Awards displayed. I received a picture text from my sister-in-law who lives in Phoenix showing the Five Guys Burger and Fries store there lauding their Best Burger Sizzle Award.”

The Sizzle Awards cover nearly 100 categories, including Cuisine, Health and Wellness, Entertainment, Personal Care, Services, and Shopping. Voters in a hurry can stop part way through the voting and return at a later time to complete the ballot. The three nominees that appear in each category represent the top three vote-getters from last year’s Sizzle Awards. Entities that receive 25 write-in votes will appear in the online ballot.
