County Dems to hold biannual meeting April 6
The Williamson County Democratic Party will hold its county convention, a reorganization held every two years as bylaws require, Saturday, April 6 at its headquarters at 112 East Fowlkes Street in Franklin.
The Democrats will elect party officers and executive committee members, beginning at 9:30 a.m. The party reorganization convention is open to Williamson County registered voters who pledge to support the Democratic Party. Anyone wishing to vote or to seek nomination to an office must bring a photo ID or valid voter registration card and must be in the building prior to 10 a.m., when the building’s doors will be locked, per by-laws.
Officers will be elected to serve two-year terms. Positions are chair, vice chair, recording secretary and treasurer. The Democrats will also review by-laws and discuss the 2013 party agenda. Other ancillary positions which should be filled or appointed include office manager, website manager, database manager, media/public information director, communications director and/or executive administrator, photographer and graphics designer.
