Drivers flight from police lands him behind bars

The Franklin Police Department arrested an allegedly intoxicated driver who fled from police in the early morning hours of April 5. FPD officers report seeing 24-year-old Michael Rivard of Franklin fail to stop for a stoplight at Del Rio Pike and Magnolia Drive. Rivard initially refused to stop for officers before bailing out of his car on Lynn Court.

Rivard tripped while jumping a chain link fence and was taken into custody by the officer giving chase. Rivard, charged with DUI, felony evading, violation of the implied onsent law, and disobeying a traffic control device. Bond was set at $9,000. Rivard is scheduled to appear in court at 1 p.m. April 11, 2013.
