Casada Earns small business award

The National Federation of Independent Business bestowed upon State Rep. Glen Casada its Guardian of Small Business award. NFIB made the announcement June 18 at the Williamson County of Chamber of Commerce’s monthly luncheon.

Casada chairs the House Republican Caucus and is a member of the House Consumer and Human Resources, and Insurance and Banking committees.

“Glen Casada has been an exceptional advocate for small business in the House of Representatives for many years,” said Jim Brown, state director of NFIB. “Representative Casada made several small business reforms a priority in the 2013 legislative session. He sponsored legislation that prohibits local governments from enacting costly patchwork mandates that federal laws already cover.”

Casada said he was honored by the recognition.

“Receiving NFIB’s Guardian of Small Business award is an honor that validates a key purpose of mine – to help small businesses run their businesses with less government interference,” said Casada. “I’m grateful to my colleagues for joining me in following through on our commitments to lower taxes and return monies to hard-working business owners and their employees.”
