Millview Community prepares for shrimp boil

The 5th Annual Millview Shrimp Boil and Concert is set for Saturday Aug. 24 at the Millview Swim Club and Community Center’s campus in East Williamson County.  Serving will begin at 6 p.m.

This year’s event again features the now famous “All You Can Eat” low country style Gulf Shrimp cooked in huge pots with Conecuh smoked sausage, corn on the cob, potatoes, onions and Cajun seasonings. Conecuh Sausage of Evergreen, Alabama has been a founding sponsor since 2008.

A side dish of Chef David Lane’s Pastalaya is also included in the $20 adult ticket and hot dog plates with chips will be available for kids for $8.  Homemade desserts will be provided by club members to top off the feast. An up and coming band Cam McAuley and friends will entertain the crowd with the sounds of country and bluegrass.

Ticket price includes open swimming at the Club’s pool, which will be open from 10:30 a.m. until 9 p.m.  The 77,000-gallon pool features one of the area’s last surviving diving boards. Last year’s Shrimp Boil brought a crowd of over 300. For tickets visit millviewswimclub.com or call 794-1921.
