Obituary: Harry Lee Sanders, Sr.
Harry Lee Sanders, Sr., 89 of Franklin, Tenn, died Aug. 19, 2013.
Mr. Sanders, a lifelong resident and farmer in Williamson County, was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Force serving during World War II. He was the longest active member of First Baptist People’s Church.
Mr. Sanders was a member of many boards and civic organizations in Williamson County. He is preceded in death by his parents, O.M. and Arra Knox Sanders; sister, Grace Sanders Gillespie; brothers, Claude and Oscar Sanders. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Mae Sawyer Sanders; sons, Lee (Amy) Sanders and Eddie (Pam) Sanders; daughters Gail (Sam) Long and Sandra Tomlin; twin brother, Larry B. (Sara) Sanders; grandchildren, Noah (Sherryl) Sanders, Stefani Rauschenberger, Meredith (Randal) McCoy, Josh Sanders, Bret Long and Jason (Lauren) Tomlin; four great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2013 at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home.
Pastors Rick White and Ed Alexander officiated. Interment followed in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Family and friends served as pallbearers. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Tennessee Baptist Children’s Home. Arrangements are by Williamson Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
