Twenty selections from ten countries: Beer tasting on tap for Oct. 12
An International Beer Tasting, featuring twenty selections from ten countries, will be held from 5-8 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 12 in downtown Franklin.
The tasting is just one of several events sponsored by the International Sister Cities of Franklin and Williamson County.
It takes place during the sixth annual Celebration of Nations to be held in the alley behind Main Street by the Fourth Avenue Parking Garage.
Tickets may be purchased by visiting www.sistercitiestn.org. Admission to the tasting is $25 in advance and $30 at the door and includes a commemorative beer tasting glass that participants can use during the event.
Proceeds from the event support Sister Cities student exchange, cultural education and the Celebration of Nations event.
Downtown restaurants are participating by hosting one of the ten tasting tents in the “global-style” alleyway.
Participating businesses include: Music City Dog House serving brews from England; Zolos serving Italian beer; Pucketts Boathouse serving beer from the Netherlands, the Williamson Source serving Jamaican beer, and Mark Cornelius with Nationwide Payment Solutions serving Canadian beer.
Also included is Mark Cook, editor of the Williamson A.M. serving beer from Japan; Grays on Main serving beer from Ireland; Bob Parks Realty serving Mexican beer; the Franklin Noon Rotary serving Belgium brews and Pucketts serving German beer.
The Franklin Transit Authority will offer the Transit on Demand twilight service for safe rides home.
The service is offered within the Franklin City limits only, and people must call at least 72 hours in advance to schedule their pick-up and return.
The cost is only $6 per round trip. To schedule a trip, email twilighttodd.org or call 615.628.0263.
