Obituary: O. L. Garner
O. L. Garner, age 79, of the Little Texas Community passed away Oct. 17, 2013. Garner was a longtime referee and umpire for high school and college sports. He was also retired shipping clerk from Nashville Bridge Co. and bus driver with Williamson County Schools.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Pat and Myrtle Garner; daughter, Teresa Marie, granddaughter, Angelica Deffendoll; and brothers, Gilbert and Wallace Garner and William Veach.
He is survived by wife, Janet Garner; son, Mickey (Melissa) Garner; daughter, Daisy Garner; sisters, Patricia (Jim) Barker and Betty (Buddy) Carr; grandchildren, Britney and Shane Garner, and Elizabeth Ann Deffendoll; and great grandchildren, Navaeh Garner, Javan Allen and Scarlett Rose Cooper.
Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013 at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home, Bobby Bennett and Al Nations officiating. Interment Mt. Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers Jamie and Josh Edwards, Brian King, Josh Cooper, Shane Garner, Al Veach, Shawn Wallick, Johnny Veach, and David Garner.
Memorials may be made to My Friends House Santa Claus. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Friday and anytime Saturday prior to service.
