East McEwen Drive Closes for Road Construction over Upcoming Weekends
Contractor will replace culvert and complete milling, paving and striping
On the weekends of Oct. 25 through Oct. 28 and Nov. 1 through Nov. 3, East McEwen Drive will be closed from the eastern end of the Connector Project to the intersection at Cool Springs Boulevard and Oxford Glen Drive. These closures will allow the contractor to complete the connection between the new connector roadway and existing East McEwen Drive. At all times, the area will remain passable by emergency vehicles. The specifics of each closure are as follows:
9:00 PM Friday, Oct. 25 – 5:00 AM Monday, Oct. 28:
The contractor will be replacing a culvert, which crosses the existing East McEwen Drive. It is anticipated that work should be completed on Saturday, October 26TH. However, the City will be showing the closure for the entire weekend, to allow extra time for any unforeseen circumstances. In any event, existing East McEwen Drive will be reopened in time for rush hour traffic on Monday morning.
9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1– 5:00 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3:
The contractor will be milling, paving, and striping the connection between existing East McEwen Drive and the Connector Project. The contractor will also be placing final pavement markings on the new Connector Project. The City anticipates opening the Connector Project to traffic by 5:00 PM on Sunday, November 3RD.
In the event of inclement weather, the scheduled closures will be postponed by one week.
