Obituary: Martha Baird Green
Martha Baird Green, age 87, died Nov. 10, 2013.
She was a graduate of the high school and college departments of Ward Belmont School. She was also a member of the Historic Franklin Presbyterian Church, the Junior League of Nashville and various historical societies.
Her peace was found in her deep and abiding faith. Her greatest joy was in her family. She delighted in her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by parents, A.J. and Mary Book Baird, husband, Walter R. Green, daughter, Mary Green Sweeney and daughter in law, Deborah Eckel Green.
She is survived by daughter, Martha Green White Ireland; sons, Walter R. Green, Jr. and Ewing Coleman “Bo” Green; grandchildren, Mark R. (Sue) White, William Britton (Jill) White, Victoria (Ryan) Tabor, Katherine (Michael) Stough, Elizabeth (Gregory) Sanford, John Sweeney, Richard (Carolyn) Sweeney, Rachel (Timothy) Bruno, Ewing Coleman (Erica) Green, Jr. and Britton Curtis Green; sixteen great grandchildren and sister, Betty Graham.
Memorial services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013 at Historic Franklin Presbyterian Church, Sally Hughes and Pat McGeachy officiating.
Memorials may be made to the Historic Franklin Presbyterian Church or Cumberland Heights Foundation.
