UPDATED: Sheriffs detectives arrest woman in Fairview murder

The Willliamson County Sheriff’s Office released the following statement this morning via Sharon Puckett, Public Information Administrator:
Williamson County Sheriff’s Office detectives today arrested a Nashville woman accused in the overnight shooting death of a Fairview man.
Kimberly Dawn Matthews, 43, is charged with second degree murder.
Matthews was arrested this morning after WCSO deputies responded to a 911 call shortly before midnight last night. James Kevin Ferguson, 62, was found shot to death inside his home on Walker Road.
Matthews is being held on $750,000 bond. She’s scheduled to appear in Williamson County General Sessions Court on Jan. 23 at 1 p.m.
There will be no further comment on this case while the investigation continues.
Williamson County Sheriff’s Office detectives are investigating a murder in Fairview that occurred this morning.
Sheriff’s deputies responded around midnight to a home on Walker Road off Highway 100 near State Route 840.
Once on the scene, they encountered a burning vehicle in the driveway and shortly thereafter entered the home where they found an unidentified male victim who had suffered a fatal gun shot wound to the head.
Reports indicate that two suspects are being questioned in the incident.
Williamson County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Sharon Puckett, who said she could not yet identify the victim until family has been notified, said a media release would be issued later this morning. No other information was available at press time.
