No shortage of volunteers for Firehouse taste test

Top: Capt. David Currie, left, Firefighter Pete Jones and Lt. Jeff Moss give thumbs up to their first experience at the new Firehouse Subs on East McEwen Dr. in Cool Springs.

Opening day is just around the corner for the new Firehouse Subs in Cool Springs, and Franklin firefighters did not hesitate when owner Mark Watson requested some taste testers to give his crew some practice.

Photographer Hugh Tharpe was also on hand to view a mural size of his patriotic image taken on the Public Square with Franklin’s own ladder trucks hoisting an American flag.

Follow the Herald for more updates on the opening of this highly-anticipated culinary addition to Cool Springs.

Mark and Laura Watson, owners of the new Firehouse Subs, and their son Jackson show Williamson County’s Hugh Tharpe the restaurant’s signature mural, which was created from Tharpe’s photograph.
