GraceWorks to hold dinner with voice of the Titans

Voice of the Titans Mike Keith will join Belmont University basketball coach Rick Byrd at GraceWorks Ministries’ annual fundraising dinner Feb. 27 at Embassy Suites, 820 Crescent Centre Drive in Cool Springs.

GraceWorks’ Sports Spectacular, celebrating sports of all kinds and all levels, will begin at 6 p.m. with a silent auction, followed by dinner and entertainment. People attending the event are encouraged to wear clothing honoring their favorite team.

Byrd, the main speaker at the dinner, is in his 28th year at Belmont with a 571-291 record there. He led the university from its former NAIA membership to its current position in NCAA Division-I. Last season, the Bruins won its sixth Ohio Valley Conference regular season title in eight years, and Belmont joined Kansas and Memphis as the only programs to earn six NCAA Tournament automatic bids in the past eight years.

Last year, Byrd received the NCAA Bob Frederick Award for livelong commitment to sportsmanship, ethical conduct and fair play.

Keith, a Franklin native, will emcee the dinner. With a broadcast career beginning in high school, Keith is now in his 17th season with the Tennessee Titans. In January 2000, Keith called “The Music City Miracle,” a last-second touchdown that gave the Titans an unexpected win in the playoffs. His broadcast of that play was named one of the 30 greatest radio calls in American sports history by Sports Illustrated magazine.

Tickets for the dinner are $65 each, or $600 for a table of 10. They may be obtained online through the GraceWorks web site at www.graceworksministries.net.
