Charles Moore “Charlie” Paris Jr., 95, of Franklin, passed away on Friday, Sept 6, 2019.
Mr. Paris was born in Davidson County to the late Charles M. Sr. and Dorothy Ownby Paris. Charlie was a retired tower operator with CSX Railroad, a WWII veteran of the U.S. Army, elder of Mt. Carmel Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 32 Degree Mason and past master of John B. Garrett Masonic Lodge.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Lois Dunkerly and Sara Mallard.
He’s survived by his wife of 65 years Helen Marlin Paris; sons, Mark (Lynn) Paris, Wayne Paris and Kenny Paris; grandchildren, Jenny (Slade) Collins, Casey (Ashley) Paris, Zac (Casey) Paris, Blaik Paris and Dillion Paris; and great-grandchildren, Emma and Callie Collins and Teagan, Luke and Sam Paris.
Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2019 at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home with Jim Taylor officiating. Visitation will be on Monday from 4-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service. Entombment will be in Williamson Memorial Gardens Dogwood Mausoleum.
Active pallbearers will be Dillion, Casey and Zac Paris, Slade Collins, Wayne Paris and Kenny Paris. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Mt. Carmel Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
