David Michael “Mickey” Johnson

David Michael “Mickey” Johnson, 68, of Franklin, passed away March 30, 2019.

Mr. Johnson was a renowned basketball player at Bethesda High School, where he graduated before receiving a basketball scholarship and his bachelor's degree from Trevecca College.

He was a teacher and coach since 1988 at Brentwood Middle School. An avid University of Tennessee fan, he also enjoyed the outdoors and working with cows and the farm.

He was preceded in death by parents, William and Martha Hill Johnson; sister, Nancy Shouse; brothers, William “Billy” Johnson and Kenneth Johnson; and mother of his two oldest children (Josh and Jenny), Karen Stovall Johnson.

He is survived by wife, Tammy Johnson; daughter, Jenny (Josh) Peach; sons, Josh (Jessica) Johnson, Dalton Johnson, Dylan (Chelsee) Marlin and Austin (Reagan) Marlin; sisters, Judy Sullivan and Vicki (Tim) Flippen; and grandchildren, Luke and Levi Johnson, Landon Way, Logan Peach, Easton and Holden and Wyatt Marlin.

Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home, James Scruggs officiating. Interment will be at Williamson Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. on Monday and 1-4 p.m. on Tuesday at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home

Active pallbearers will be Donald Buford, Dennis Harrison, Frankie Nall, Robbie Allen, Keven Daniel and Jake Way. Honorary pallbearers will be teachers and staff of Brentwood Middle School.

Memorials may be made to the Williamson Medical Center Children’s Hospital.
