Fred E. Griggs

Fred E. Griggs, 89, of Spring Hill, passed away on Aug. 31, 2019. 

Mr. Griggs was born in Malvern, Arkansas to the late Fred L. and Julia Elmore Griggs. He was a 1948 graduate of Magnet Cove High School in Malvern, Arkansas and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. 

He was a former member of Forrest Hills Baptist Church in Nashville and member of Oak Valley Baptist Church in Franklin. He retired from Delta Foremost Chemical in Memphis, where he was a sales and equipment manager. 

Fred was preceded in death by his brothers, Carl Griggs, Ralph Griggs, Jack Griggs and James Griggs, and sister, Maurice Ward. 

He’s survived by his wife of 68 years, Christine Lousie Montgomery Griggs; son, Kevin Griggs of Brentwood; daughters, Stephanie (Jeff) Bonner of Spring Hill and Julie (Randy) Lindemuth of Tulsa, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Amanda Bonner, Claire (David) Nelms, Paul (Amy) Bonner, Blake Griggs, Hunter Griggs, Grace Griggs, Mary Lindemuth and Caroline Lindemuth; and great-grandchildren, Avery, Luke, Harrison, Camille, Evie, Jacob and Sam. 

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2019 at Spring Hill Memorial Funeral Home, Pastor Jerry Winfield officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Memorial Park, and visitation will be 5-8 p.m. on Friday and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. 

Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers.
