Gilliam Otis Traughber, III 

Gilliam Otis Traughber III, 64, of Franklin, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus on July 11, 2019 holding his wife's and twin brother’s hands.

Mr. Traughber was very well known for his huge Christmas light display, which attracted thousands of cars each year to his home in the Green Valley subdivision where he resided for 27 years.

He was a 1973 graduate of Battle Ground Academy and also met his requirements to earn his Eagle Scout certification in 1973.

Gill was a photographer for the Williamson Leader, The Review Appeal (where he met his beloved wife), Brentwood Journal and owned and operated Gill Traughber Photography. He was a member of the Tennessee NFL Oilers/Titans Founders Club and Nashville-Franklin #72 Elks Lodge, and called Grace Chapel in Leiper’s Fork his church home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilliam Otis Traughber Jr. and Jane Spain Traughber; father-in-law J.C. Anglin; brother-in-law William Anglin; and loyal companion dog, Blue.

He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 38 years, Kim Anglin Traughber; twin brother, William L. Traughber; sister, Gilda (Jody) Bowman; beloved pets, Tux, Gracie, Little Bit, Lilly, Sissy and Big O; niece, Heather Traughber Jackson; nephews, William Otis “Brent” Bowman and Joseph Hamilton Bowman V; mother-in-law, Dorothy Anglin; sister-in-law, Janice Anglin; and brother-in-law, Terry Lynn Anglin.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home, Dr. Matthew Harris officiating. Entombment will follow in Remembrance Mausoleum at Williamson Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, July 15, 2019 and one hour prior to the service Tuesday at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home.

Steve Berry, Joe Kimbrough, Lee Ellis, Walter Primm, Bill Lucas, Tommy Frazier, Wicky Lawrie, Benny Quinn and Rick Moss will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Williamson County Humane Society.
