Lt. Col. Shelli Dawn Huether

Lt. Col. Shelli Dawn Huether, 45, passed away Sept. 8, 2020.

Mrs. Huether was born on Aug. 8, 1975, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She started her military career in the Texas Air National Guard as a navigator and deployed five times. 

She met Brian, the love of her life, while deployed to Afghanistan. Her current assignment was with the 118th Airlift Wing in Nashville. 

She was an active member of Life Community Church in Nolensville and enjoyed many hobbies in aviation. She also was an artist and licensed teacher. 

She was a loving mother, devoted wife, a veteran, a licensed pilot, mentor and devoted friend to many. Shelli had a servant’s heart and spent countless hours volunteering with the USO, Operation Stand Down and many other charities and nonprofit organizations. Her greatest joy and accomplishment were her children. 

She was preceded in death by her father, Clarence “CB” Goodwin, and is survived by her husband, Lt. Col. Brian David Huether; their two children, Anna Josephine, 8, and Levi Brian, 5; mother, Judy Goodwin; Cynthia Hicks; and brothers- and sisters-in-law, a sister, nieces and nephews. 

Services are scheduled for noon Tuesday, Sept. 15, at the Brentwood Baptist Church, located at 777 Concord Rd. in Brentwood. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m.-noon on Tuesday, Sept. 15, prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Nashville National Cemetery.
