Melvin Louis Prevost Jr., 72, of Franklin, passed away in his home on Aug. 4, 2019.
Mr. Prevost was born on Feb. 24, 1947 in Detroit, Michigan to Melvin L. Sr. and Sally Bilyk Prevost, both deceased. Also, preceding him in death was his sister, Linda Scarberry.
He married his wife, Joyce “JoAnne” Lewandowski Prevost, on June 17, 1977. Also surviving is their son, Michael (Jennifer) Prevost of Murfreesboro, and a sweet granddaughter to be due in January.
Melvin was employed by General Motors for 48 years where he worked as a tool and die maker. He was an active member of St. Philip Catholic Church.
He was a charter member of the Knights of Columbus in Michigan and at St. Philip. He served as Grand Knight two times and was a former president of the Men’s Club.
Memorial services will be conducted on Aug. 30, 2019 at St. Philip Catholic Church, Father Bala officiating. Visitation will be from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the church with a funeral mass to follow.
