Vicki Mills Brock 

Vicki Mills Brock, 92, of Franklin, passed away on Oct. 15, 2021.

Mrs. Brock was born to parents John Mills and Effie Johnson Hines on June 24, 1929, in Morristown, Tennessee. She was a graduate of Lenoir City High School, and she went on to study at a local business college.

Vicki met William Sykes Brock in 1975. They were married in 1976 in Morristown, Tennessee.

She worked as a journalist and columnist at the Morristown Citizen Tribune (Vagabond Vic), medical secretary for Dr. Jose Wee Eng and juvenile detention officer at the Morristown Justice Center before retiring in the mid 1980s.

She was a woman of faith, and she enjoyed reading, writing prose and poetry, gardening, mentoring and deeply loving her family and friends. She touched so many lives. Her wonderful and gentle soul will forever remain in our hearts.

She was preceded in death by her husbands William Sykes Brock and LeRoy Strader, the father of her children; grandson, Christopher Shane Hines; parents Effie Hines and John Mills; stepfather, Charlie Hines; and brother, Neil Mills.

Vicki is survived by daughters Connye Strader Braxton of Wickliffe, Ohio, and Jindy Strader of Franklin; stepchildren Elaine Brock of Panama City Beach, Florida, Diane Weaver of Morristown, Tennessee, and Bobby Brock of Knoxville; sisters Charlotte Lawson of Lenoir City, Tennessee, and Linda Anderson of Sweetwater, Tennessee; great-grandchildren Olivia and Noah Hines of Morristown, Tennessee; and many loving nieces and nephews, grandchildren, great- and great-great-grandchildren.

Friends, please join us for a celebration of life for Vicki from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 10, at the Holiday Inn Express, located at 7100 Berry Farms Crossing in Franklin.
