Ommer Lampley, obituary

Ommer Lampley, 84 of Franklin, Tenn., died Feb. 1, 2010.  

He was a member of Heritage Church of Christ. Mr. Lampley farmed until 1951 in Williamson County.  He then became a small business entrepreneur.  His beloved Gwendolyn worked faithfully by his side in all these businesses. Mr. Lampley was the sole owner and/or partner of a general store, restaurant, loan company, new and used automobile sales, land development company, homebuilding, dump truck company and over-the-road trucks. He retired in 1994.

He was preceded in death by his parents John Ed and Mary Jane Fisher Lampley; brothers, Sewell, Winfred, Willard and Lloyd Lampley; sisters, Eula Beard, Bertha Bradford and Prudie Parham. Mr. Lampley is survived by his wife of 65 years Gwendolyn Lampley, Franklin, Tenn.; son Jimmy (Mary) Lampley, Lilburn, Ga.; daughter Judy Gibbs, Goodlettsville, Tenn.; sisters, Annie Barnhill and Beatrice Allen; grandchildren, Lydia Gillespie, John Lampley and Jason Gibbs; four great grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010 at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home; Jim Taylor and Paul Forshey officiated. Interment was in Williamson Memorial Gardens. Family and friends served as pallbearers.
