Robert Garrett, obituary
Robert Saunders Garrett, 89 of Brentwood, Tenn., died at his home Dec. 18, 2012.
He was born in Chowchilla, Calif. to the late William and Emma Marie Johnson Saunders. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy Air Corp. serving during WWII and the U.S. Air Force serving during the Korean conflict. He was a member of the Resting Place Church in Nashville, Tenn. and member of The Bridge Ministries. He was the director of the Small Business Administration in Las Vegas, NV.
He was preceded in death by son, Shannon Patrick Garrett; brother, Lt. Col. William Lee Garrett; and sister Elizabeth Del Carlo. Mr. Garrett is survived by loving wife of 43 years, Gayle Simpson Garrett of Brentwood, Tenn.; sons, Robert Howard Garrett, Scott Ryan Garrett both of Brentwood, Tenn. and Mark Robert Garrett of Merced, Calif.; daughters, Dr. Judithann Marie Dunkerly-Bean of Las Vegas, Nev., Kelly Adair Garrett of Las Vegas, Nev. and Deborah Lynn Garrett-Nelson of Atwaters, Calif.; sister, Nina McDowell of Merced, Calif.; grandchildren, Dorian, Garrison, Macy, Ryan, Owen, Camille, Shannon Patrick, Jr., Heather, Brandon and Tiffany; great-grandchildren, Courtney, Connor and Caden.
Services will be held at a later date in Merced, Calif. with interment in Evergreen Cemetery.
Local arrangements are by Williamson Memorial Funeral Home in Franklin.
