Lucy Mae Landis, obituary
Lucy Mae Landis, 85 of Franklin, Tenn. and formerly of Massena, NY and Mount Dora, Fla., died Dec. 28, 2012.
She was born in Hannibal, NY at the family homestead settled by her great great great grandfather John Shutts in 1829.
She was the fifth of eight children born to her late parents Martha Adelaide Gray and George William Bishop.
She graduated from Cato-Meridian High School and Rochester Business Institute.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, David R. Kells and F. Parks Landis; brothers, H. Albert Bishop, John H. Bishop, Bernard Bishop, Edward Bishop; sister, Esther Landis. Mrs. Landis is survived by children, Richard E. Kells of Fayetteville, NC, John J. Kells of Franklin, Tenn., Katherine A. King of Junction City, Kan., and Kenneth R. Kells of Massena, NY; step-children, Frank Landis of Erie, Colo., Nancy Hochberger of Culver, Calif., William Landis of Schenectady, NY; brothers, Franklin Bishop of Eustis, Fla. and Robert Bishop of Cape Coral, Fla.; 13 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
She will be missed by many other family members and friends.
Memorial Services will be held Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Historic Franklin Presbyterian Church, Rev. Sally Hughes officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. prior to service and immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Historic Franklin Presbyterian Church or the charity of your choice.
Arrangements are by Williamson Memorial Funeral Home in Franklin.
