Melvin Ray, 72 of Murfreesboro, Tenn., died Dec. 28, 2012.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvis and Irene Tallart Morphis; brothers, Homer, Joe and Charles Morphis; sister, Martha Ann Vice. Mr. Morphis is survived by sons, Troy (Kim) Morphis of White Bluff, Tenn., Paul (Hayley) Mophis of Franklin, Tenn., Emmett (Lee) Morphis of Greensboro, NC and Jody (Ann Marsh) Morphis of Greensboro, NC; daughter, Melinda (Thomas) Spiller of Spring Hill, Tenn.; brother, Q.T. Morphis of Ringold, Ga.; wife and mother of his children, Linda Morphis of Greensboro, NC; and 13 grandchildren.
Memorial services were conducted Dec. 29, 2012 at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home, Thomas Spiller officiating.
Memorials may be made to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital.
Arrangements are by Williamson Memorial Funeral Home in Franklin.
