Obituary: Jean McCune Porter
Jean McCune Porter, a resident of Franklin, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2013. Born on July 10, 1931, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she was raised in Kittanning, Pennsylvania, and graduated from the high school there in 1948.
Jean studied drama after high school and had a life-long passion for theatre, jazz, art, fashion and travel. She also loved decorating, cooking and entertaining.
She is survived by her loving husband of nearly 58 years, Bob Porter; their children , Biff Porter and Kay Ervin; daughter-in-law Marcy Porter; son-in-law Bob Ervin; and grandchildren, Rob and Kate Porter.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Mac and Kay McCune.
A memorial service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Franklin at 2 pm on Saturday, January 11, 2014. Family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers a memorial donation can be made to the Salvation Army by calling 615-242-0411, or send your contribution to 631 Dickerson Road, Nashville, Tennessee, 37207.
