To the editor,

The family of Pearl Bransford would like to thank each of you for the outpouring of love and support after her death.

Your expressions of sympathy and remembrances of her through cards, calls, Facebook postings, media comments, food and other acts of kindness will always be cherished memories.

Additionally, we are grateful for the donations that have been made in her name to Hard Bargain Association, Slaves to Soldiers Markers, Needs of Our Kids of the Franklin Special School District and the Bransford Scholarship at Columbia State Community College. These gifts will not only benefit others in the community but also provide living reminders of Pearl’s love of education, nursing and service to the residents of Franklin.

We also would like to thank the employees of the city of Franklin, whose devotion to their work helped facilitate Pearl’s service on the Board of Mayor and Aldermen. The memorial held during the Dec. 8 Board of Mayor and Aldermen meeting was beautiful.

A heartfelt thank you also to the media for sharing stories and photographs of Pearl. Each provided different looks into her life of service and, hopefully, will encourage others to follow in her footsteps.
