Letter to the Editor: Vacancy clears path to push for much-needed grocery store

To the editor,

Since the vacancy for the Franklin Plaza has grown due to the closure of the thrift store, I believe it is time we petition to have another grocery store move into this location.

I believe it is imperative to the neighborhood to be able to shop for groceries without having to travel to one of the two grocery stores that can be too far for some residents due to transportation.

There are many citizens in this area that can greatly benefit by having a grocery store so close to home.

We as citizens should contact grocers we would like to see move into this location. I have done so myself and the more people who petition a grocer to occupy this location, the more likely we will see a much-needed grocery store before too long that will benefit the families that live in this area.

Thank you,

Kirk Thompson
