To the editor,

My son made Eagle in 2012 under Mr. Green and BSA Troop #137.  It’s an achievement that will walk with him — and open doors for him — all of his life.

John Green was one of the most influential men of sterling character I’ve ever met, and I am forever grateful that Ryan spent a good bit of his youth in the troop.  Carole’s story and Phil’s submitted commentary in today’s (10/10) edition of the Herald are wonderful stories and memories.

Just wanted to say thanks for your giving Mr. Green and the troop attention through the years. You folks have always been generous with your coverage of superb hometown heroes. Please pass my thanks on to Carole.

Best,

Frank M. Limpus
