MURFREESBORO – After reaching the state tournament for the first time since 2014, Brentwood Academy fell to Girls Preparatory School in the Division II-AA girls’ soccer semifinals Thursday.

The Lady Bruisers and BA battled to a 2-2 tie in the regular season and the first half looked much the same with the lone goal coming from GPS senior Kylie Eiselstein in the 15th minute.

Eiselstein stayed on her feet after colliding with Nolyn Bartholomew and fired to the left post for the tally.

BA was outshot 4-1 in the first half. GPS took over after intermission and closed with a 13-4 advantage on shots.

Kennedy Ball slammed a penalty kick off the crossbar in the 45th for a 2-0 lead and the Lady Bruisers didn’t let up there.

Eiselstein scored her second goal in the 51st, while Ball fed Lane Lawrence just seven minutes later for a 4-0 lead as the rain began to pour in Murfreesboro.

Lucyjames Knox scored the Lady Eagles lone goal in the 72nd. Elley Stenga managed five saves in goal for BA, which closed the 2018 campaign with a 12-3-2 record.

The four goals were the most allowed all season for the Lady Eagles, who were looking for the school's first girls' soccer title.

Father Ryan 5, Baylor 0

Hannah Morton Scored two goals and the Lady Irish advanced to Friday’s state championship with a shutout of Baylor.

Bradie West opened the scoring in the 11th after Lily Rummo moved up the right flank and shoveled a pass off to Bradie for the tally.

Rummo scored in the 63rd on a loose ball in the box and Ella Kopperud netted the exclamation point for Father Ryan in the 76th.
