Football: BGA wins on the road; Ensworth runs past Centennial

Williamson County had a pair of Thursday night high school football games with Battle Ground Academy playing on the road in Week 9 and Centennial hosting Ensworth.

Battle Ground Academy 41, Lincoln County 0

With Brett Brown leading the aerial attack and Zach Flores the ground assault, BGA cruised to a non conference win at Lincoln County.

Brown completed 8-of-13 passes for 135 yards and touchdown throws of 21 yards to Xavier Shaw and 28-yards to AJ McLemore. Brown also rushed for one score to trigger a three-touchdown second quarter for the visitors.

Flores opened the game with 65-yard sprint for a TD 13 seconds into the contest. He closed with 157 yards and two scores on just 12 touches. Miller Barnett added 62 yards on the ground and another rushing touchdown on seven carries.

BGA rushed for 239 yards and racked up 374 yards of total offense, while limiting Lincoln County to 116 yards and forcing two turnovers.

Austin Ford had five tackles and was in on a sack and Iman Lohrasbi came away with an interception to lead the BGA defense.

Ensworth 40, Centennial 17

Mark Smith rushed for 222 yards and three touchdowns as Ensworth struck fast to post a non conference win in Franklin.

Ensworth scored the first four touchdowns, but did have two kicks blocked. Carter Potts converted a 40-yard field goal at the end of the first half to put the home team on the board, down 26-3.

Smith scored his third touchdown on a 6-yard run late in the third and Hayden Caldwell rushed for his second TD early in the fourth to stretch the lead to its largest at 40-3.

Josh Forsee and Cannon Plowman both scored rushing touchdowns for Centennial in the final six minutes.

The Cougars were out-gained 408-247, but did win the turnover battle 2-0.

Forsee closed with 138 yards rushing on 21 carries to go with his 36-yard touchdown run. He also returned a kickoff 41 yards.

Plowman added 74 yards on the ground.
