Brentwood continued its strong start to the season with a dominant shutout of Dickson County Friday night at BHS.
The Bruins, who improved to 3-0 overall and 1-0 in Region 6-6A, had little issue putting the game out of reach, scoring two touchdowns in the first quarter then five in the second to take a 49-0 halftime lead. They would go on to win 63-0.
Dickson County (0-3, 0-1) has yet to get on the scoreboard this season, being outscored 101-0 in three games, and it struggled in all phases against BHS. The Bruins allowed DCHS only three first downs, out-gaining the visitors 499-61 in total yards and forcing two turnovers.
The Cougars had a tough time controlling Brentwood’s passing attack, most notably in the second quarter, when quarterback Cade Granzow threw four touchdowns. Granzow finished 13-for-15 passing for 249 yards and four touchdowns, and he also had a 1-yard rushing score in the first quarter.
Granzow’s favorite target was Aaron Walton, who caught four passes for 66 yards and two TDs, but Brentwood’s QBs weren’t stingy. Eleven Bruins had at least one catch.
The Bruins will take their undefeated record on the road in Week 4. They’ll travel to Henry County ahead of a Week 5 rivalry showdown at home with Ravenwood.
