The Brentwood football team maintained its No. 5 ranking in the latest Associated Press Top 10 statewide poll in Class 6A.

The Bruins claimed a 24-7 win in Week 7 at Independence, which fell from the poll after being ranked No. 10 last week. Brentwood improved to 3-0 in Region 6-6A. Ravenwood stayed at No. 7 in the Class 6A poll.

In Class 5A, previously unbeaten Summit tumbled from No. 5 to No. 9 after a 24-14 loss to Region 5-5A rival Page. The Patriots also pushed back into the statewide poll at No. 10 after the big win to take over the region lead.

Nolensville stayed strong at No. 5 in Class 4A. The Knights held off Tullahoma 13-7 on Friday to improve to 6-0 overall.

In Division II, Brentwood Academy fell from No. 2 to No. 5 in DII-AAA. The Eagles dropped a nationally-televised 42-37 game at Knoxville Catholic on ESPN2 in Week 7.

In DII-AA, Battle Ground Academy moved up one place to No. 3, while Christ Presbyterian Academy garnered enough votes to sit just outside of the top five.
