Football - Champagnat at CPA - Week Three

A unique opponent travelled to Christ Presbyterian Academy on Friday to take on the Lions.

Champagnat Catholic out of Hialeah, Florida made the trip to Middle Tennessee and didn’t hold back, beating CPA 25-0.

The defending Division II-AA state champion Lions are 0-3 for the first time since 2009. The shutout loss was also their first since losing 43-0 to Ensworth in the fifth game of the 2016 season.

Nothing gets easier for CPA from here. It will try to right the ship in Week 4 against undefeated Ensworth before a state championship rematch with Battle Ground Academy the following week.

Father Ryan 17, Baylor 42

The first region contest of the year for Father Ryan (1-2, 0-1) didn’t go as planned Friday at home against Baylor (3-0, 1-0).

The Irish fell to 0-1 in the Division II-AAA East/Middle Region with a 42-17 loss.

Week 4 for Father Ryan features the Bishop’s Cup rivalry against Pope John Paul II. The Irish will then travel to defending state champion Brentwood Academy the week after.
