Local teams soared above and beyond on Saturday at the Tennessee Soccer Club’s state tournament as the 03 Girls Premier, 06 Boys ECNL, 04 Girls Showcase and the 06 Girls Premier all took home the gold.

To the victors go the spoils and all of these victors will advance to face national competition at their respective regional tournaments. Each team has weathered a season of adversity and challenges to reach this point.

For the 03 Girls Premier, becoming state champs has been the goal all season.

“Our main focus this season was to finish out the year as state champions,” said head coach Andy Stone. “From that point forward, everything we did was dedicated to achieving that objective.”

Stone attributed his team’s success to its strong bond. According to Stone, everyone plays for each other, and that showed throughout the entire season. The 03 Girls Premier squad has battled through adversity all season. Whether against teams or the weather, this team never faltered.

After an undefeated Division 2 West State league run, the 03 Girls Premier team advanced to the final, where it faced Murfreesboro Premier and posted an impressive 3-0 victory.

“Words cannot express how proud I am of the team,” Stone said. “Coaching this team has been the highlight of my 13-year club career.”

The 03 Girls Premier will move on to the 2019 Southern President’s Cup in Round Rock, Texas.

The 06 Boys ECNL defeated the Lobos Rush, 1-0, to move onto the US Youth Southern Regional in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

The 04 Girls Showcase took down the Lady Lobos Rush, 1-0, and will also head to Baton Rouge, Louisiana  for the US Youth Southern Regional.

“Winning the State Cup was a perfectly fitting end to the incredible season this team had," said 04 Girls Showcase Head Coach Nolan Pittman. "The showcase team has invested immeasurable effort and time into getting to this point and I’m so pleased that they were able to celebrate this achievement together."

Pittman was proud to say that this team can now add state champs to their ever-growing list of accolades

The 06 Girls Premier beat the Lady Generals, 1-0, to join the 03 Girls Premier in US Youth Presidents Cup action in Round Rock.
