One Generation Away inaugural golf tournament at The Grove set for Aug. 19

On Monday, Aug. 19, One Generation Away will host their inaugural golf tournament at The Grove in College Grove, with 28 teams participating in a four-person scramble.

The shotgun start will be at 1 p.m. The Grove is located at 6200 Wildings Blvd. in College Grove.

One Generation Away is solely focused on eliminating hunger by rescuing food — whether from a local restaurant, grocery story or catered event. That rescued food is then distributed where it is needed: schools, shelters and homes, as well as through more than 40 separate Saturday food distribution events per year in at-risk communities.

It’s hard to believe and even harder to accept that in a community of so many resources, children go to bed or to school without eating, or that a senior must choose between buying food or medicine that they need. Unfortunately, all over Middle Tennessee, and even Williamson County, hunger is a daily concern for vulnerable children and families. These facts can change in a lifetime through the work of One Generation Away.

Sponsors of this year’s event are Nelson Mazda; Synergy Design & Integration; Unlimitedville; Blakley Construction Services, LLC.; C12 Group; EviCore Healthcare; Franklin Synergy Bank; Humerick Environmental Construction, Inc.; and Renasant Bank. These sponsorships alone will provide over 104,000 meals to neighbors in need.
