Despite dropping the opening set, the Brentwood volleyball team rebounded and clinched a 20-25, 25-22, 25-23, 25-20 District 12-AAA victory in Spring Hill.
Besides Ravenwood, Summit is the only other district team to win a game against the Lady Bruins – the six-time defending Class AAA champions. The Lady Spartans also fell 3-1 on Aug. 28 in Brentwood.
Junior Shaye Eggleston collected 22 kills and 17 digs to lead Brentwood. She added four aces in the win. Rylie Kael also collected a double-double with 11 kills and 10 digs. Piper Drazek (46 assists) guided the offense and had 12 digs, while Haley Sanders scooped up a team-best 20 digs with 14 more coming from Sophie Frohlich.
Mary and Zoe Oldham combined for 13 kills as well for the Lady Bruins, who won their 25th in a row.
Brentwood heads to Atlanta for the Rally High Volleyball Tournament beginning Friday. The Lady Bruins boast a 33-2 record overall and improved to 8-0 in district play with Thursday’s win.
Brentwood battles Ravenwood next on Tuesday. Summit plays next over the weekend in the Wilco Tournament before traveling to Franklin Tuesday.
The Lady Spartans (6-3) sit in third in the district standings. Ravenwood (6-2) is second. Page (4-5) holds a half game lead over Independence (3-5) for fourth.

Coupled with Summit’s loss, Ravenwood moved into second-place in the district with a 25-13, 25-18, 25-17 sweep of the Lady Rebels Thursday.
Camille Spencer tallied 10 kills and 10 digs and Reaghan Larkin added nine kills to lead the Lady Raptors. Madison Willhoit collected 14 assists, eight digs and seven aces, while Kelsie Dawson had five kills and five blocks and Carly Cooper 20 assists. Bella LePore led the defense with 12 digs for Ravenwood.
Franklin Road Academy def. Battle Ground Academy, 3-1
The Lady Wildcats won the first set, but suffered a Division II-A Middle Region loss at rival FRA on Thursday. The Lady Panthers claimed a 15-25, 25-20, 27-25, 25-21 win.
Hana Robertson recorded nine kills and sister Abby added eight more to lead the BGA offense. Kearstyn Seay contributed four aces and four blocks, while Ally Newkirk had 18 assists and Isabella Northman scooped up 22 digs.
FRA improved to 7-1 in the district with the win.

Gabby Jones scored twice and the Lady Lions posted a shutout at FRA.
Mary Bradley Myers, Marxie Myers and Alex Armstrong also scored for GCA. The Lady Lions host Providence Christian Academy Monday before trips to Columbia Academy and Battle Ground Academy next week as well.

Mia Martinez scored twice for the Lady Spartans, who bounced back from a 2-0 loss at Franklin Tuesday with a win Thursday.
EG Pence opened the scoring for Summit before Martinez followed with her first and then converted a penalty kick.
