Roundup: Price leads BGA soccer with four goals; Summit volleyball sweeps Page

Soccer – Summit at Battle Ground Academy

Kennedy Price recorded four goals and the Battle Ground Academy girls soccer team raced past Providence Christian Academy 7-0 in a Division II-A Middle Region District 3 win on the road Tuesday in Murfreesboro.

Price has scored six goals in the last two matches as BGA has outscored PCA and Zion Christian Academy 16-0 in back-to-back matches. The Lady Wildcats dispatched ZCA 9-0 on the road Monday.

Eva Schreiber scored quickly to open the contest on a corner play from Price in the fourth for the visitors, but PCA stayed steady for the rest of the half until Price scored her first goal just before intermission. BGA came out of the break adapted to PCA’s style of play and ready.

Palmer Grace Snead opened the half with a goal on a ball from Keaton Mitchell, and Price connected on tallies in the 50th, 54th and 56th as BGA opened up a 6-0 lead.

Bella Bugg tallied the final goal for BGA in the 67th on Sarah Evan’s service from the wing.

The Lady Wildcats improved to 5-1 overall. They host St. Cecilia on Thursday at 3 p.m.

In other area soccer action, Christ Presbyterian Academy defeated Franklin Road Academy 5-0, Father Ryan clipped Franklin 2-0 and Brentwood Academy won 4-0 over Lipscomb Academy.

The Lady Spartans volleyball team clinched a 25-14, 25-18, 25-10 District 12-AAA win at home in Spring Hill on Tuesday.

Destiny Cherry recorded 11 kills on .450 hitting to go with four blocks to lead Summit. Rebekah Frey added five kills, four aces and nine digs in the win, while Riley Golais dished out 25 assists and McKenna Davis scooped up 16 digs.

Ashley Hatchette had six kills, Kate Horn added five blocks and Macee Anway collected 20 assists and 16 digs to lead Page.

Summit hosts Franklin Thursday, while the Lady Patriots host Independence.

In other volleyball action, Grace Christian Academy dropped to Franklin Road Academy in five sets.
