After winning just a single match last season, the Grace Christian Academy volleyball team is headed to the regional tournament.

The Lady Lions from the young school near Leiper's Fork posted a 7-3 record in District 11-A this season and placed second in the district tournament behind league champion Columbia Academy.

GCA topped No. 3 seed Hampshire 25-11, 25-13, 25-9 in the semifinals to face the Lady Wildcats.

GCA's Caeli Finch and Rachel Windland landed spots on the All-District 11-A team and Parker Spencer was named to the All-Tournament team.

The Lady Lions will take on region host Summertown at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday to open Region 6-A play. Columbia Academy will face District 12-A runner-up Loretto in the early contest Tuesday, while the winners will square off for the region title later that night at 7:30 p.m.
