Volleyball: Nolensville, BGA, Brentwood all stay perfect in district play; Ravenwood, Summit post road wins

Volleyball – Nolensville at Brentwood

The Nolensville High School volleyball team stretched their District 9-AA win streak over the past two seasons to 26 consecutive matches after a sweep of Murfreesboro Central Magnet Thursday.

The Lady Knights, who finished unbeaten in district play in 2019, posted a 25-20, 25-15, 25-13 victory at home Thursday.

Maggie Rickert led Nolensville’s attack with 13 kills, while Avery Young added nine with eight more coming from Sydney Bloedorn.

Lauren Starcke collected 14 digs to lead the defense.

Nolensville improved to 27-4 overall with a 12-0 district mark with two conference games remaining next week at Tullahoma and in Nolensville against Marshall County.

Battle Ground Academy def. Grace Christian Academy, 3-0

Gillian Baisden hit for 12 kills on .600 hitting with three blocks to lead BGA to a 25-12, 25-15, 25-17 Division II-A District 3 Middle Region win.

Christine Jewell added eight kills and 12 digs for the Lady Wildcats, who close out the regular season Friday night at Christ Presbyterian Academy.

Kearstyn Seay added eight kills in the win, while Isabelle Northam (15 digs), Jessi Meghreblian (11 digs) and Abby Robertson (10 digs) all reached double-figure dig totals to lead the defense. Statistics from GCA weren’t provided.

Brentwood def. Franklin, 3-0

The Lady Bruins raced to a 25-10, 25-12, 25-7 District 12-AAA win Thursday at Franklin.

Brentwood bounced back from having its 10-match win streak snapped after a five-set loss to Siegel on Wednesday.

Shaye Eggleston tallied 14 kills and Mary Oldham added nine to lead the Lady Bruins attack. Brentwood also had the hot hand from the service line producing 14 aces, including five apiece from Oldham and Dylan Sulcer.

Ravenwood def. Independence, 3-1

The Lady Raptors claimed a 25-22, 25-27, 25-15, 25-14 District 12-AAA win in Thompson’s Station Thursday.

Tanya Sichling paced the Ravenwood attack with 11 kills, while Calli Riggs added nine. Kelsie Dawson and Ellie Kimpel each tacked on six kills with Kimpel serving a match-best six aces.

Bella LePore led four Lady Raptors in double-figures in digs with 24 and Mackenzie Bidwell chipped in 17 more.

Bidwell, a freshman, also set 38 assists in her second consecutive start as setter.

Statistics for Indy weren’t reported.

Summit def. Centennial, 3-1

Destiny Cherry posted 13 kills and both Rebekah Frey and Riley Golias added nine apiece as the Lady Spartans earned a 25-20, 25-21, 20-25, 25-20 District 12-AAA win at Centennial Thursday.

Frey added four aces and 14 digs, while Golias set 38 assists. McKenna Davis led the defense with 21 digs.

Statistics from Centennial weren’t reported.
