Volleyball: Ravenwood sweeps Page; Brentwood, BGA also earn wins

The Ravenwood volleyball earned a District 12-AAA sweep of Page on Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2019 in Brentwood.

The Ravenwood volleyball team posted a District 12-AAA win against visiting Page on Tuesday in Brentwood.

Madison Bidwell led a balanced attack with 12 kills and 12 digs as the Lady Raptors claimed a 25-13, 25-20, 25-20 sweep of the Lady Patriots. Ravenwood improved to 4-1 in district play, while Page moved to 3-2.

Madison Willhoit and Carly Cooper combined for 30 assists to guide the Lady Raptor offense. Tanya Sichling (8 kills), Reghan Grimes (6 kills) and Kelsie Dawson (5 kills) all chipped in on the attack, while Bella LePore anchored the defense with 13 digs.

Ravenwood travels to Summit on Thursday, while Page heads to Centennial.

Brentwood def. Independence, 3-0

The Lady Bruins cruised to a District 12-AAA win, sweeping Indy 25-12, 25-14, 25-8 on Tuesday in Thompson’s Station.

Both Shaye Eggleston (14 kills) and Rylie Kael (10 kills) reached double figures in kills to lead the Brentwood offense as the Lady Bruins improved to 5-0 in the league standings heading into Thursday’s home match against Franklin (1-4).

The pair of hitters also combined for 15 digs, five aces and five blocks as well. Mary Oldham added six kills and five blocks, while Haley Sanders scooped up 11 digs and Hollye Tate added five kills.

Piper Drazek set 31 assists as Brentwood hit .423 as a team. Drazek also contributed seven digs.

Battle Ground Academy def. Providence Christian Academy, 3-0

The Lady Wildcats needed extra points in the third game, but pulled off the sweep of home-standing PCA 25-13, 25-9, 30-28 on Tuesday.

Hana Robertson tallied 10 kills and about Abby Robertson and Jessi Meghreblian notched five aces. Izzy Northman led the defense with 19 digs and Ally Newkirk and Campbell Dobbs split the setting duties with 12 assists apiece.

BGA, which moved to 8-9 overall, heads to Zion Christian Academy on Thursday.

The Lady Wildcats were coming off a 3-1 home loss to Columbia Academy on Monday. Hana Robertson and Kearstyn Seay each had 11 kills in that match.
