Franklin resident Connor Inman, a sophomore at Trevecca Nazarene University, has been named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Athlete of the Week.
Inman, standing 5-foot-9, scored a pair of goals in a 4-0 shutout win against Tennessee Temple University. The Franklin High School product added an assist in a slim 4-3 loss to Campbellsville University earlier in the week.
In the victory over Tennessee Temple, Inman got TNU rolling by scoring the game's first two goals - which came in a span of five minutes midway through the half. Both goals came off of corner kick set plays, heading the first and finding the ball on the ground and putting it into the left corner of the goal.
With the Trojans going 1-1 on the week, Inman gave his team a chance in its 4-3 loss as he assisted on the team's third goal to close within a goal with 15 minutes to go in the game. Inman's two goals are his only two on the season to go with five assists for nine points, moving him into a fourth place tie on his team for most points.
