Thursday court report

Independence High School was forced to cancel their basketball doubleheader with Oakland Thursday night after self-reporting violations to the TSSAA.

Both Indy’s boys and girls teams opened their seasons Monday at Lighthouse Christian, one day prior to the TSSAA’s scheduled start date.


Hunters Lane 51

Ravenwood 55

The Raptors bettered their record to 2-0 Thursday with a four-point win over Hunters Lane, a fellow Region 6AAA squad. Joey Barnes led Ravenwood with a game-high 31 points while Hunters Lane’s Devonta Odem had 17.


Clarksville 33

Franklin 65

Colson Patton led the Rebels with 17 points while Hunter Nelson hit three 3-pointers on his way to 13 points. Ten Franklin players contributed to the score sheet while only three Clarksville players contributed to the scoreboard.


Battle Ground Academy 79

Lancaster Christian 63

Nathan Moran hit eight 3-pointers on his way to a game-high 29 points, leading the Wildcats to a 16-point road victory. Gavin Shellnut (13) and Brian Dangerfield (10) also had double-digit points for BGA.




Hunters Lane 37

Ravenwood 34

The Lady Raptors lost their second game of the young season Thursday. Bailey Swayze sunk three 3-pointers on her way to 17 points for Ravenwood while Deandrea Sawyers had a game-high 18 points for Hunters Lane.


Clarksville 33

Franklin 57

The Lady Rebels outscored a rebuilding Clarksville team 34-12 in the second and third quarters combined on their way to a 24-point win. Hannah Harris led Franklin with 21 points and four 3-pointers with Anna Follese adding 10 points.
