A-Game set to acquire USBA

A-Game Sportsplex assumed management of the USBA Sports facility located at 1850B General George Patton Drive in Franklin effective Nov. 19 with intent to purchase the business. The consolidation allows the USBA facility to operate in conjunction with A-Game to better serve the local community. Terms are not being disclosed.

The combined entity puts 12 basketball courts, 24 volleyball courts and two fitness centers/workout areas at the disposal of local families and community organizations with a single point of contact for event scheduling and court reservation.

“We view this as a great opportunity to build on our mission to serve the youth and families in Middle Tennessee,” said Trigg Wilkes, general manager of A-Game. “Our short-term goal is to use the additional space to improve existing programming while, over time, expand the capabilities of our organization and what it can offer to families and community organizations in the area.”

There will be no immediate change to current event schedules and there are currently no plans to alter any existing leagues or programs at either facility. As the transition progresses, A-Game will begin to utilize the additional facility space to provide more convenient scheduling for participating families and organizations.

In addition to better serving the local community, placing both facilities under one management structure allows A-Game and USBA to host more and larger regional and national youth tournaments. These events have proven to fill up hotel rooms, restaurants and retail locations, which help bolster the local economy and the community as a whole.

Wilkes will serve as the overall general manager of both facilities and oversee the development of the long-term plan for the combined resources.

A-Game is seeking to reach out to families who have participated in activities at USBA to make them aware of the new arrangement. Those interested in learning more should contact Wilkes at twilkes@goagame.com.

Located in Cool Springs, A-Game is a multi-sports facility offering training and leagues for ice hockey, basketball, lacrosse, futsal, volleyball and other sports. More information can be found at www.goagame.com.
