Four Eagles scored double-digit points Friday night in Independence’s 61-47 victory over Riverdale in Thompson’s Station.
Junior Vic Wharton led the way with 16 points while senior Cam Miller added 15.
In a game that featured 11 lead changes through three quarters, Indy’s Deion Sims put Indy on top for good with back-to-back baskets late in the third quarter. Sims finished the night with 12 points.
Independence trailed by six points midway through the second quarter before Miller outscored the Warriors 10-0 during a three-minute stretch, putting the Eagles up 32-26 at halftime.
Father Ryan 71
Independence put on a fourth-quarter comeback after trailing by 19 points through 24 minutes, but fell to Father Ryan despite a 34-20 run in the final eight minutes. Cam Miller had a game-high 24 points for the Eagles with Vic Wharton adding 18.
Cane Ridge 60
Ryan Nelson had a team-high 18 points and four 3-pointers in the Raptor loss. Joey Barnes added 12 points.
The Cougars led 62-50 after three quarters before Stratford surged with a 35-point period to close the game. Matt Pond had a game-high 23 points for Centennial with JaNique Johnson contributed 15.
East Hickman 45
Deondre Moore scored a team-high 19 points in the Yellow Jackets’ runaway victory. Teammate Garrett Wall sunk three 3-pointers on his way to 17 points.
Marshall County 72
Trailing by two points at halftime, Page slipped farther behind in the third quarter as the Tigers outscored the Patriots by six points in the period. Hunter Bennefield scored 24 points for Page while Stewart Ringstaff sunk five 3-pointers.
Brentwood Academy 40
The Eagles held major college prospect Jalen Lindsey to 12 points as BA fell to CPA – the reigning Class AA champs. Brandon Taylor had 10 points on the night. The Lions remain undefeated on the season.
Lancaster Christian 65
BGA led 47-45 after three quarters before Lancaster Christian outscored them 20-13 to close the game. Brian Dangerfield led the Wildcats with 22 points while Jordan Tutler added 10.
Warren County 44
Centennial improved to 7-3 on the year with a 63-44 victory over Warren County on Saturday night. The Cougars were led by Cord Collier and Matt Pond with 17 and 16 points, respectively.
CHS led by seven points at the half and expanded that lead with tenacious defense and fast break scoring conversions. The Pioneers were led by Tucker Smith with 17 points and Kendall Rutledge with 10 points, including two 3-point baskets.
Centennial lost their second meeting of the season against LaVergne 70-58 on Friday night.
The Wolverines were led by Marquis Johns with 19 points, including a trio of 3-pointers. Doloren Sparks added 14 points and one 3-pointer.
Trailing 44-30 at the half, the Cougars cut the LaVergne lead to six points with four minutes remaining in the contest before LHS pulled away to win by double digits.
CHS was led by Matt Pond with 20 points and two 3-pointers and Cord Collier with 12 points and a three pointer.
The Raptors fell behind 19-5 in the first quarter to the Rutherford County power. Branndon Jones had a team-high 10 points for Ravenwood while Jonathan Coles and Ben Stadnick each added eight.
Blackman sunk 15 3-pointers in their runaway victory over the Bruins. Andy Schumpert had a team-high 13 points for Brentwood with Cody Shelton adding 10.
Marshall County 49
Tied 25-25 at halftime, Marshall County surged to take a four-point victory. Makinde London led Summit with 16 points with Malcolm Walker adding nine.
Hickman County 51
Deondre Moore scored 25 as the Yellow Jackets jumped to a double-digit lead early against Hickman County. Garrett Wall sunk four 3-pointers on his way to 18 points while Grant Estes had 15 points.
Brentwood Academy 41
The Eagles led 24-15 at halftime before Cookeville rallied with a 20-6 run in the third quarter. Brandon Taylor was BA’s leading scorer with nine points while Danny McGrath had eight points on two 3-pointers.
Cane Ridge 33
Lexi McKay scored 16 points for the Lady Raptors as they edged past Cane Ridge in overtime. Bailey Swayze added 10 points for Ravenwood.
The Lady Cougars ran away from Stratford early as 13 different players scored for Centennial. Taylor Maxwell led the way with nine points while LaShundra Hammond was close behind with eight.
Father Ryan 30
Independence outscored Father Ryan 13-6 in the fourth quarter to overcome a four-point deficit. J.T. Twaddle had a team-high 11 points for Indy while Laina Buche sunk two 3-pointers on her way to 10 points.
East Hickman 25
The Lady Yellow Jackets held East Hickman to one point in the first quarter. Taylor Langston scored 13 points with Cierra McDonald adding 11 points.
Marshall County 33
Page outscored Marshall County 18-2 in the fourth quarter. Bria White scored 25 points for the Lady Patriots while Cat Taylor sunk two 3-pointers on her way to 10 points.
Brentwood Academy 53
The Lady Eagles defeated the reigning Class AA state champions with a 25-4 run in the fourth quarter. Hailey Pierson scored 20 points for BA with Anna Stephens and India Hall each adding nine.
Lancaster Christian 72
Allison Cowie scored 26 points for BGA as the Lady Wildcats tried to overcome a 25-14 first-quarter deficit. Caroline Abbott added 23 points for BGA.
Harpeth Hall 69
The Lady Bruins could not hold on to a 46-44 advantage after three quarters as Harpeth Hall stormed to a 25-14 run in the final eight minutes. Olivia Shealy and Hannah-Catherine Lackey each had team highs with 15 points.
Lexi McKay scored a game-high 18 points, but it was not enough as the Lady Raptors fell by 15 points. Colyn Springer added 10 points and three 3-pointers for Ravenwood.
An 18-9 Lady Blaze proved to be the difference as Brentwood fell in Rutherford County. Paige Parker scored 15 points for the Lady Bruins with Olivia Shealy added eight. Both sunk two 3-pointers.

The Lady Eagles led for a large portion of the first quarter before the Lady Blaze went on an 8-0 run over the last 30 seconds of the period. Riverdale’s Tyisha Petty had a game-high 27 points with Olivia Jones adding 21. Tayla Harmon had 16 points for Indy with Hannah Winters close behind with 12.
Marshall County 48
Teondra Crawford scored 27 points as the Lady Spartans outlasted a Marshall County run. Summit trailed by six points after eight minutes before going on a 20-5 run in the second quarter. Caroline Patrick added 10 points for Summit.
Hickman County 52
Tiffany Franks scored 23 of her game-high 29 points in the fourth quarter as the Lady Yellow Jackets rallied in the fourth quarter for the win. Taylor Langston added 10 points.
Brentwood Academy 55
Cookeville outscored BA 12-6 in overtime for the win after having trailed 14-5 after one quarter. Hannah Goolsby had a game-high 28 points for Cookeville while Jai Murphy led BA with 15 points. Hailey Pierson was close behind with 13.
St. Cecilia 52
Trailing 43-25 after three quarters before rallying in the final eight minutes. Allison Cowie led the Lady Wildcats with 25 points and 23 rebounds.
