Brentwood senior Paige Parker reached a milestone early in the Lady Bruins’ 62-35 win over Franklin Friday night, scoring the 1,000th point of her career in the opening minutes.
Following the goal, the game was paused in order to award Parker with the game ball – which she quickly ran into the stands to her family.
The basket gave Brentwood (10-10, 3-1) a 4-2 advantage and fueled a 23-5 run to the 4:35 mark of the second quarter.
Franklin’s Meredith Ovies ended a nearly-six minute drought, scoring seven points in the quarter’s final four minutes to pull the Rebels (9-10, 2-2) to a 29-17 score at the half.
Brentwood halted any momentum Franklin had in the third quarter, going on a 16-2 run through the first seven minutes of the second half.
Parker finished the night with a game-high 17 points for the Lady Bruins while Millie Tunnell added 16.
Ovies led Franklin with 13 with Anna Follese contributing 12.
