Centennial’s Lady Cougar basketball team snapped a nearly five-year drought Jan. 25 in their 39-34 win against Ravenwood.
The win ended a 37-game losing streak in District 11-AAA contest that dated back to February 10, 2008.
Centennial jumped on the Lady Raptors to the tune of a 15-7 first half lead before being held to two points in the second quarter. Entering the second half in a 17-17 tie, the Lady Cougars outscored Ravenwood 22-17 in the final 16 minutes for the win.
Jordan Johnson led the way for Centennial with 16 points while LaShundra Hammond chipped in with 14 points.
Ravenwood was led by Erin Johnson’s 12 points while Colyn Springer sunk three 3-pointers on her way to an 11-point night.
Brentwood Academy 52
Corn Elder had a game-high 19 points for Ensworth. D’Montre Wade led BA with 15 points and three 3-pointers while Jordan James chipped in with nine points.

The Wildcats entered the final quarter trailing 28-27 before Father Ryan outscored them 23-17 in the final eight minutes. Brian Dangerfield had a team-high 16 points for BGA while Andrew Cowie added 11.
East Hickman 26
Fairview jumped to a 37-15 advantage over East Hickman in the first half and coasted to victory. Grant Estes led the way for the Yellow Jackets with 19 points and three 3-pointers while Garrett Wall also had three 3-pointers on his way to 14 points.
Marshall County 67
The Patriots led 33-32 at halftime before the Tigers went on a 23-10 run in the third quarter. Hunter Benefield led Page with 17 points and three 3-pointers. Donte DeSalle chipped in with 12 points and two 3s.
Brentwood’s defense held Hillsboro to under 10 points in every quarter in their victory. Asa Duval had a team-high 13 points while Jacob Adcock added eight.
Spring Hill 43
The Spartans held tight with the always-tough Spring Hill team, trailing 29-19 after three quarters before Spring Hill widened their lead with a 14-9 fourth period. Makinde London led Summit with seven points with Conner Barnett adding five.
Lewis County 46
Fairview survived a fourth-quarter comeback by Lewis County for the two-point victory. Isaac Edmondson led the Yellow Jackets with 22 points while Grant Estes and Deondre Moore each added 10 points.
The Rebels outscored the Spartans 13-7 in the overtime period to earn the victory in what will be a District 11-AAA game next season. Garrison Mathews led Franklin with 14 points while Max Taylor added 11. Makinde London also scored 14 points for Summit – sinking three 3-pointers. Tyler Otto and Grant Robison chipped in with 11 each.

Trailing 33-29 after two quarters of play, BA outscored the Wildcats 27-16 in the second half. Danny McGrath led the Eagles with 17 points and two 3-pointers while BGA’s Nathan Moran had a game-high 19 points and three 3-pointers.
Hickman County 48
The Yellow Jackets outscored Hickman County 41-21 in the second half. Isaac Edmondson had a team-high 20 points with Grant Estes adding 14 points.
Marshall County 60
Marshall County forced overtime thanks to an 18-8 run in the fourth quarter. Makinde London led the Spartans with 19 points while Tyler Otto sunk three 3-pointers on his way to 11 points.
The Burros continue to struggle in district play, dropping their third 11-AAA contest – this one coming at the hands of Franklin. Garrison Mathews scored a team-best 15 points for Franklin with Hunter Nelson adding 11. Jamonte Davis had a team-high 18 points for Hillsboro.
Matt Pond’s 38 points and six 3-pointers were not enough for Centennial as they dropped their sixth district contest of the year. Ravenwood was extremely balanced on offense as Joey Barnes led the charge with 16 points while Jonathan Allen, Jonathan Coles, and Ryan Nelson each had 13 points.

The Lady Irish defense smothered BGA in this defensive struggle. Sarah Pratt had a team-high five points for BGA.
Brentwood Academy 45
Brentwood Academy staged a small comeback in the fourth quarter, outscoring Ensworth 16-10 in the final eight minutes. Hailey Pierson had a team-high 10 points while Breuna Jackson chipped in with nine.
East Hickman 18
The Lady Yellow Jackets handled East Hickman on defense – allowing them under 10 points in every quarter. Taylor Langston had a team-best 13 points for Fairview while Tiffany Franks added 11.
Marshall County 35
Page continued their undefeated District 12-AA season with a runaway win over Marshall County. Cat Taylor and Bria White shared a team-high 15 points while Chloe Wiggington and Allison Wiley each had 12 points for Page.
The Lady Bruins handed Hillsboro their first District 11-AAA loss of the season, outscoring them 14-1 in the first quarter. Millie Tunnell had a team-high 12 points for Brentwood while Olivia Shealy and Paige Parker each added 10 points.
Spring Hill 58
The Spartans survived a 21-11 run by Spring Hill in the fourth quarter to earn a one-point win. Teondra Crawford led the team with 17 points while Caroline Patrick was close behind with 16 points and two 3-pointers.
Lewis County 60
Fairview trailed by seven points at halftime before Lewis County ended the game on a 26-18 run. Tiffany Franks and Taylor Langston each had 13 points for the Lady Yellow Jackets.
The Lady Rebels survived an impressive 30-point night from Summit’s Teondra Crawford to get a much-needed win. Anna Patton led Franklin with 15 points while Meredith Ovies added 12. Caroline Patrick chipped in with 16 points for Summit.

BA trailed BGA 30-24 at halftime before outscoring the home team 26-13 to close the game. Hailey Pierson led the Lady Eagles with 14 points with Jai Murphy adding 12 points. Caroline Abbott had a game-high 15 points and three 3-pointers for BGA while Allison Cowie added 13 points.
Hickman County 51 (OT)
Cierra McDonald scored 27 points for Fairview in their overtime win. Taylor Langston added 11 points as the Lady Yellow Jackets survived a second half comeback from Hickman County.
Marshall County 43
The Lady Spartans went cold in the second half against Marshall County, seeing what was their seven-point halftime lead disappear thanks to a 27-11 run for the Tigerettes over the final 16 minutes of play. Tenodra Crawford had a team-high 14 points for Summit.
Hillsboro jumped to a 30-18 advantage in the first half against Franklin. Anna Patton led the Lady Rebels with 12 points while Meredith Ovies chipped in with nine.
