Court Report: BA, BGA boys eliminated from postseason

Brentwood Academy’s boys season ends with a four-point loss to the rival Big Red in overtime. Andrew Einstman sent the game to overtime for MBA on a basket with three seconds remaining in regulation. He finished with 16 points. BA was led by Brandon Taylor’s 15 points and three 3-pointers while Eric Henninger added 11 points.

Christian Brothers 61


BGA led 25-17 at halftime before host Christian Brothers rallied with a 20-12 third quarter to tie the game. They went on to outscore the Wildcats 24-16 in the final eight minutes for the win. Andrew Cowie and Nathan Moran shared a game-high 11 points for BGA.


Summit 31

Fairview 44


The Yellow Jackets protected their home court in the 12-AA consolation game, defeating Summit by 13 points. Trailing 27-13 at half, Summit posted a small comeback in the third quarter – cutting the margin to 36-26. Isaac Edmondson had a game-high 14 points for Fairview with teammates Deondre Moore and Garrett Wall added 10. Tucker Rippy had 10 points for Summit with Conner Barnett chipping in with eight.

Fairview had upset on their mind, leading 48-41 after three quarters before Giles County went on a 32-8 run in the final eight minutes to advance to the 12-AA finals. Kimani Bledsoe had a game-high 23 points for the Bobcats while Isaac Edmondson led the Yellow Jackets with 18 points. Grant Estes chipped in with 16 points and three 3-pointers.


Summit 29

Spring Hill 48


Tied 6-6 after one quarter, Spring Hill took control with a 19-6 run in the second quarter. Summit struggled to find offense on the night as no players reached double-digit point totals. Tucker Rippy had a team-high eight points while Cameron Presson added five.

Brentwood 49


The Lady Bruins earned a No. 3 seed in the Region 6-AAA tournament with a win over Franklin in the 11-AAA tournament consolation game. Brentwood led 34-20 after three quarters before the Lady Rebels rallied to cut the final score to single digits. Paige Parker, the district’s Most Valuable Player in the regular season, had a game-high 13 points while Olivia Shealy added 11. Franklin was led by Meredith Ovies and Anna Patton who each scored nine points.

Fairview earned the No. 3 seed in Region 6-AA with a win in 12-AA’s consolation game. Cierra McDonald had a game-high 16 points for the Lady Yellow Jackets while Tiffany Franks added 11. Teondra Crawford had a team-high 14 points for Summit with Sydney Forrest adding nine.

Harpeth Hall 65


BGA’s season ends with a loss to Harpeth Hall. Eighth grader Allison Cowie recorded double-double No. 13 of the season, finishing with 23 points, 20 rebounds, and four blocked shots.


Summit 49

Lewis County 59


Lewis County extended what was a three-point lead with a 23-8 run in the second quarter. Teondra Crawford and Alianah Pettus each scored 14 points for the Lady Spartans while Caroline Patrick added nine points.


Hillsboro 52

Brentwood 38


The Lady Burros advanced to the 11-AAA championship game with a 14-point win over Brentwood. Trailing 24-21 at half, the Lady Bruins fell further behind as Hillsboro held them to six points in the third quarter. Olivia Shealy had a team-high 11 points for Brentwood while Paige Parker was close behind with 10.
