High School hockey season opens with practice this evening

Ravenwood will be looking for a third straight state title when practice opens tonight for the Greater Nashville Area Scholastic Hockey (GNASH) season at the A-Game Complex in Coolsprings.
The Raptors are the first to hit the ice at 3:25 this afternoon with Independence-Summit getting their first ice time of the year at 9:25 p.m.
Eight more teams get their first practice at two different sites tomorrow.
The regular season is set to open next Wednesday, October 9th with four games scheduled at A-Game and two at the Sportsplex in Nashville. FRA-Lipscomb faces Mt. Juliet-Wilson Central in the Franklin opener at 6:40 p.m., with Independence-Summit facing Franklin-Murfreesboro Oakland at 8 p.m. on Rink One.  On Rink Two, defending champ Ravenwood opens with Pope John Paul II at 7:35 p.m., with White House Heritage-MLK Magnet facing Ensworth-Goodpasture at 8:55 p.m.
